Elevator

This is an old hotel so don't expect modern furniture or decoration. But it is very authentic. I have read many complaints on the elevator, for example. The elevator works perfectly well but it is from the '30s but obviously upgraded for functionality. So it is a very old lift, with manual wooden doors. So using it is an experience in itself! (in my humble opinion). The whole place could use a renovation but than it would probably loose a lot of its character. So if you don't mind a bit o mould smell in the bathrooms and a slightly noisy A/C, this place is very good. The breakfast was simple but good, again very authentic. In this hotel, you feel like being in Rome. The staff was super friendly. The beds were good and alls sheets were super clean. Note that I also stayed in a very good room, tripe, facing forward. Lot's of good restaurants and mini markets around the area.

The hotel was incredibly quiet even though it was almost fully booked. Something I was very positively surprised by, because when I got to the hotel I saw the lobby was full of young people on a school excursion. But the hotel had upgraded my hotel room, without saying anything, so my stay was peaceful and not on the same floor as all the young people. The hotel staff showed professionalism and a service that the hotel can be proud of. Next time I'm in Rome it will definitely be the same hotel I will book.

The location could not have been more perfect for a young solo female traveler who just wanted to see the Vatican safely. The train station is a 7 minute walk away, there are four good restaurants within sight of the hotel door, 2 convenience shops, a taxi stop right outside the front door, and a metro station across the street. The public entrance to St. Peter's Square was 5 minutes straight down the street, and I could see the basilica dome from my window.

This hotel is a gem of the past, I was told it was built around the 1930s. Great character and even better location. It's about a 5 minute walk to the vatican, with shops and restaurants close by. Staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is great just enough to start the day great quality food. I strongly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be coming back. This hotel is a gem in Rome, price doesn't come in to the equation great value for money.

i really liked the location. i did not expect it to be so near the St Peter Square. the hotel was clean . our linens/supplies were refilled/resupplied and room cleaned so well. breakfast was great . the Staff, Viju, allowed us to bring packed breakfast because we had to be at the airport early. he was really nice and amiable and very helpful. so, too, with the man who was at the counter when we arrived . the tall guy with curly hair.
